I started a cooperation after my graduation at the University of Bologna with Professor Carlo Caini an Dr. Rosario Firrincieli in 2004.

My role in the team is to design and develop software components for research on networking protocols.

The group research has always supported free and open source software, and focuses on several fields:

  • TCP enhancements on satellite networks
  • Transport protocols evaluation, fine tuning and measurements, simulation and emulation
  • Performance enhancing proxies, TCP cross-layer improvements
  • Real transport protocol testbeds based on emulation tools
  • GNU/linux-based virtual testbeds and comparison with simulation tools
  • Delay and disruption tolerant networks
  • Porting and testing DTN protocols implementation and tools for mobile devices running GNU/linux
